June UU Leaders’ Snapshot

This is a short, action-oriented companion to the CUC eNews, for ministers, administrators, and board leaders. This is what’s worth flagging, sharing, or acting on this month, without the full newsletter’s length.

A note as we close the year

This issue marks the end of the 2025–2026 congregational year, and Vyda Ng’s final month as Executive Director after fourteen years. Michael Jodah is now fully in the role. Our next Snapshot opens 2026–2027 after the summer. For now, two gatherings this week are worth your attention.

This week: two gatherings worth showing up for

Tonight: Dismantling Barriers — Engaging in Governance

Thursday, June 25, 2026 – 4:00 pm PT | 5:00 pm MT | 6:00 pm CT | 7:00 pm ET | 8:00 pm AT | 8:30 pm NT (90 minutes)

This Dismantling Barriers session focuses on how governance can embody the 8th Principle.  If your board or committee has been working on inclusion, this is a chance to bring that conversation into a national room before the program winds down in September. Register here.

This Saturday: RAMP! — Projects, Partnerships & Practical Wisdom

Saturday, June 27, 2026 – 10:00 am PT |  11:00  am MT  |  12:00 pm CT | 1:00 pm  ET  | 2:00 pm  AT  | 3:00 pm NT (90 min)

This is the one to make space for. After four months, the RAMP! cohort shares what they actually built.

RAMP! was a new kind of pilot, and it responds directly to something congregations have named again and again: the need to empower the next generation and pass on the wisdom of our elders. What makes it different is the reciprocal part. The Reciprocal Annual Mentorship Program pairs generations so that the older mentor the younger and the younger mentor the older. No one fixes anyone; everyone learns. Elders share hard-won wisdom, younger UUs share their understanding of the world we’re now in, and together they hold the future of our congregations and movement.

This first round was a pilot, which means June 27 is your chance to see what it produced and feel how exciting it is. You’ll see the projects, hear what worked, and get a clear sense of whether, and how, this is a model your congregation might want to run locally in a future round. We think once you see it, you’ll want to.

Please share it with leaders, mentors, and anyone in your congregation invested in the next generation of UU leadership. Register Here.

On the blog, and an invitation to respond

The CUC blog has been active this spring, and we’d love for it to become a place of conversation, not just reading. If something resonates, share it with your congregation, and we warmly welcome your comments.

One recent reflection, “We Will Not Look Away”, a reflection on bearing witness to suffering in Palestine, Lebanon, and other places of violence. We know many in our communities are holding these realities with heavy hearts, and we offer this piece as a space for shared reflection. This piece begins that response, and your voices are part of where it goes next.

We welcome your feedback about any of the above.

Thank you for the care and leadership you offer your communities.
