Church Staff Compensation

The Canadian Unitarian Council believes that staff work needs to be compensated with fair living wages which include real-time costs of living. The resources provided by the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) offer resources to congregations on compensating all staff within the salary range of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) Salary Recommendations. For ordained clergy, the salary is comprised of salary and housing. The information prepared by the UUA in the following recommendations refer to specific health insurance, retirement fund and tax information which is relevant in the US. However, the principles outlined and some of the issues are useful in a Canadian context.
