For Junior Youth and Youth (ages 12-19) and their Adult Advisors (25+)
Cost: Free
The MyceliUUm is a large virtual gathering of any UU youth (14-19) and junior youth (12-13) in Canada who would like to attend, as well as their adult supporters (youth advisors, religious educators). These gatherings will occur 3-4 times each year, and last two hours each. The gathering may include a special activity such as community building games, worship, or leadership skills development. These gatherings also provide an opportunity for youth to discuss issues that affect them and organize around these issues.
The MyceliUUm Youth Network includes an ongoing virtual community space using Discord. Our Discord server is a private, moderated space that has been designed according to the CUC’s Online Youth Safety Policy. If you have any questions or concerns about the MyceliUUm Discord, please contact youth@cuc.ca.
The theme for this Gathering is reconnection! Come reconnect with old friends and new, play some games and hear about what may be in store for the yoUUth community this year.
Registration Notes
Register once to attend all the MyceliUUm Gatherings for the next year (through August 2023). If you’ve already registered for MyceliUUm this year, you will be emailed the link for the next Gathering a few weeks before it happens.
Youth and Adult Advisors who have registered and attended a Gathering will gain access to the MyceliUUm Discord server.
This event is free. If you would like to make a donation to the Dawning Future Subsidy Fund, which increases access to CUC events for youth and young adults, you can do that using this form.
Youth do not need to be matched with an advisor to attend, as this is not an overnight event and there will be at least two CUC vetted adults present. However, adults may not attend alone – they must be accompanying at least one youth from their congregation. We encourage teams of youth and adults to attend together.
Parent/Guardian permission forms for youth under 18 are now embedded in the registration form. No separate submissions are required.
Adults are still required to have a Congregational Involvement Form submitted on their behalf by a congregational leader.
This registration form also includes a new Photo/Video Consent section, according to our updated Photo/Video Safety Policy for Minors. If you have any questions about this new policy, please contact casey.stainsby@cuc.ca.
Don’t forget to click the final “Submit” button at the end of the form, and watch for the confirmation email. If you don’t get a confirmation, your form may not have been properly submitted.
