Join youth and advisors from Ontario and Quebec for the Fall 2017 Our Whole Lives (OWL) Weekend at the Unitarian Congregation in Mississauga. The weekend includes facilitator-led sessions from the OWL curriculum, Saturday night youth-led worship, shared meals and lots of social time.
About OWL: Using a comprehensive approach, the Grade 10-12 Our Whole Lives program helps high school youth gain the knowledge, life principles and skills they need to express their sexuality in safe and life-enhancing ways. Focusing on honest and accurate information, the OWL weekend will address topics such as stereotypes and assumptions, self-acceptance and self-esteem, healthy relationships, consent, decision making, and body image. Read more about the OWL program here, or contact your congregation’s OWL committee or religious educator. You can also watch a great video by two youth who have participated in OWL (and find out why it’s WAY better than health class!).
REGISTER NOW – Click here to go to the Registration Form.
Registration deadline: Friday, January 12, 2018 at midnight.
Cost: $45 per participant (youth and advisors). OWL facilitators do not pay a fee. We recommend that each congregation cover fees for adult advisors to attend.
- Registration fee includes meals from Friday snack to Sunday breakfast, and accommodation at the church.
- Payment by cash or cheque will be accepted on Friday of the event – please make cheques payable to the Unitarian Congregation in Mississauga. If possible, we prefer one cheque per youth group.
