Lay Chaplains Chat:

Lay Chaplains hold sacred space for others during some of life’s most tender and transformative moments. Yet many do this work quietly, often without a community of peers who understand its joys, complexities, and spiritual depth.
The National Lay Chaplaincy Committee recognizes the importance of supporting one another in this ministry. To help nurture connection and collective wisdom, we invite all Lay Chaplains—newly appointed, long-serving, or discerning—as well as Lay Chaplaincy Committee members, to join our recurring Lay Chaplains Chat gatherings on Zoom.
These online circles are more than updates or announcements. They are a chance to:
- Meet fellow Lay Chaplains from across the country
- Share stories, challenges, insights, and blessings from your work
- Explore questions and learn from one another’s experience
- Receive updates about upcoming trainings and national gatherings
- Feel grounded and accompanied in your calling
In a role that can sometimes feel solitary, these chats remind us that we are part of a wider community of care—an interconnected network of people offering compassion, creativity, and presence on behalf of our congregations.
Come as you are. Bring your stories, your questions, your triumphs, and your uncertainties.
Let us gather to reflect, to support one another, and to strengthen the shared ministry we carry into the world.
