Chorus 2024: Navigating Our Cosmic CommUUnity!

Friday, May 17 at 6:00 pm MT  – Monday, May 20 at 12:00 pm MT (Westwood Unitarians) (3.5 days)

Save the date! Chorus is happening in Edmonton, Alberta from May 17-20th, 2024!

Each year, Canadian UU young adults (18-35) gather to build beloved community, deepen our cross-country connections, and grow as spiritual beings.

Program

The theme for this year is Navigating Our Cosmic CommUUnity!
Check back for more details on the theme and schedule over the next few months.

Our host site: Westwood Unitarian Congregation

We are very grateful to the Westwood Unitarians for hosting us! We also have the use of the Parkallen Community Hall right across the street for the duration of the weekend.

Costs for Chorus are kept low because our accommodations are not fancy – we will be sleeping in the church and the hall! Most of us will sleep on the floor, so bring your own bedding. A few couches are available for those who need them. Those who live locally are welcome to sleep at home.

Bridging Events & Chorus

CanUUdle is the sibling conference for youth (14-19 year olds) that happens alongside Chorus. At some point during the weekend, CanUUdlers and Choristers will get together to mark the important transition of bridging, when members of our communities move between youth and young adulthood, as well as those who are entering the youth community and those ageing out of the young adult community. These events include a special catered dinner and activities for bridging youth to get to know the young adults, as well as the Bridging Ceremony.

Online Participation

Chorus is an in-person event. However, the Bridging Ceremony will be livestreamed, and the Canadian UU YAs Discord server will be active, as always. We are also planning for there to be a report-back on the YAs & Beyond Community Conversations series at some point in the weekend which will be a multi-platform session.

Contact Camellia at chorus@cuc.ca if you would like to be sent the links to the livestreamed sessions.

Cost & Financial Support

Registration is offered on a sliding scale, from $100 – $190. The cost per person to run this event is $145. If you are able to pay more than the middle tier, your contribution helps to cover the cost for those who cannot pay as much.

Additionally, subsidies are available to help with registration and travel costs. Learn more about the Dawning Future Youth and Young Adult Subsidy Fund. Applications must be received by April 17th.
