Shirley Marquez – Administrative and Financial Assistant

With a background in classical theatre, Shirley started her foray into the real world as a theatre actor before transitioning into arts administration. Her love for organization, spreadsheets and obsession with numbers eventually gained her experience in the bookkeeping world, which led her to provide her skills not just within the arts sector, but other non-profit organizations as well with an emphasis on social issues and the grassroots movement.

Along with her other freelance work, Shirley is also the Membership Administrator for rabble.ca. She is delighted to be joining the staff at the Canadian Unitarian Council, where she will be supporting their work with :

• Assisting staff with office office-related duties, including email, inquiries, mail, and membership data management
• Supporting the finance team with financial data management, including data entry, data organization, deposits, payables, donor information, and other financial duties as required
• Providing logistics support in the organization and coordination of CUC Events
