A Message of Support and Unity from the Canadian Unitarian Council
November 5, 2024
Dear US Members, Friends, and Colleagues,
As the US election unfolds, we are witnessing an event with global implications that will impact each of us differently.
This moment brings a variety of feelings – anticipation, hope, uncertainty, faith or even anxiety. We are with you in spirit and in faith, united in compassion and understanding, whatever emotions or reflections arise for you at this time. Unitarian Universalist values call us to foster peace, justice, and compassion in human relations.
In the wake of this election, we reaffirm our commitment to these values and support one another in our shared spiritual journey. Now, more than ever, we are reminded of the strength in community, the comfort of connection, and the courage it takes to meet the future with open hearts. As we move forward, let us hold space for the diversity of perspectives within our community, knowing that respect and empathy can guide us through even the most complex times. Together, we continue to work for a world of love and equity—within our hearts and communities.
Thank you for being part of this resilient, caring community. In this time of uncertainty, we find reassurance in our shared commitment to unity and our collective journey towards a better world. May we each find peace and hope in this time and look toward the future with a shared spirit of unity.
With warmth and solidarity,
Canadian Unitarian Council’s National Voice Team
