Maya Ferguson Klinowski – Administrative Assistant
Maya (she/they) is a lifelong Unitarian and Torontonian.
For her young adult and teen years Maya was a worship leader and occasional preacher at First Unitarian Congregation of Toronto. She brings her love of and passion for the UU faith to every aspect of her life and work.
Maya completed her BA in Indigenous Studies, English and Spanish at the University of Toronto. She’s grateful to have studied on the lands of the Anishinaabeg, Mississaugas of the Credit, Chippewa, Wendat and Haudenosaunee people, and home to many diverse Indigenous people. During her studies she became more aware of the realities of historical and current day “Canada”. She co-hosts an annual fundraiser with First Unitarian for Thunder Woman Healing Lodge Society, a culturally informed housing organization for Indigenous women, 2 Spirit, and LGBTQ+ people leaving incarceration.
Maya looks forward to bringing effective, compassionate communication, organization and positivity to her role as Administrative Assistant.
Maya loves going to the gym, teaching gardening to Hippo School Students, going on walks, and spending time with her partner and cat.
