CUC Health and Safety Protocols for In-person Events
Post-COVID-19, health measures continue to be a consideration for how we gather for in-person events. The lessons learned during the pandemic have changed how we move through our lives. While infections have decreased dramatically, the threat of Covid and the SARS-CoV-2 viruses have not disappeared. As communities of faith, we play significant roles in continuing to help prevent the spread of infection, in providing a calm and reasoned presence, and in modelling safe practices.
To help keep us all safe, the Canadian Unitarian Council strongly recommends that all participants for CUC in-person events be fully vaccinated (at least two vaccinations) with the most current vaccines and wear masks where appropriate. The CUC encourages Covid testing the day before the event and, if you develop symptoms, during the event. A limited number of tests will be available on-site. We recommend you bring your own tests as well.
Resources for Congregations and Communities
Multi-platform Resources
The CUC has created the Congregational Guides to Multi-Platform Considerations, compiled by CUC staff from conversations with leaders, resources from the Unitarian Universalist Association, other faith organizations and government sources.
These are set up as PowerPoint slides with accompanying notes, and can also be used to guide small group conversations. The Guide can be found in the Resources for Congregations During Covid-19 Google folder, and has its own sub-folder called Congregational Guides to Multi-Platform Considerations with cited documents in this sub-folder.
If you have additional resources to share, please email them to congregationallife@cuc.ca.
Congregations and Communities should continue to monitor and follow local public and governmental directives regarding physical gatherings. To limit the spread and reduce health risks, the CUC is strongly recommending all congregations and communities pay particular attention to updates prior to fall and winter, and adjust their gathering decisions accordingly.
