Social Justice Lead

April has a diploma from the 3-year Public Relations program at Cambrian College in Sudbury, Ontario. She has worked with small businesses and government for over 20 years in administration, communication, media, volunteer coordination and events planning.

April’s unique qualifications make her a perfect fit to assist the 11 Monitoring Groups of the CUC as they continue to track, respond and challenge government policy and corporate decisions.

April and her 2 teen-aged children have attended Ottawa First Unitarian Congregation since 1998. Over the years, April has been involved at Ottawa First in Religious Exploration, Our Whole Lives small group facilitation, Women’s groups and as a Youth Advisor. She is passionate about everything Unitarian and is very happy to have found this spiritual home.

Outside of the CUC, April is an outdoor and yoga enthusiast who leads yoga, dance, adventure and meditation retreats across Canada. She assists youth-led programs and has an entrepreneurial spirit.April is pleased to have the opportunity to support the CUC and its Social Responsibility efforts. “I am thrilled to use my education and experience to assist an organization that shares my values, it’s a dream come true.”
