CUC Health and Safety Protocols for In-person Event Requirements

The Canadian Unitarian Council (CUC) requires all participants, volunteers, and event presenters to be fully vaccinated (at least two vaccinations) against Covid-19, and to wear masks, at our in-person events (except for meals). Please be prepared to show your proof of vaccination. If you have a medical exemption, please bring a signed letter of support from a physician. The CUC encourages Covid testing the day before the event and, if you develop symptoms, during the event. A limited number of tests will be available on-site. We recommend you bring your own tests as well.

In general, the CUC will follow the policy guidelines of the province in which the in-person event is taking place, and may recommend additional protocols. These measures help protect the health of our community and ourselves. Those who cannot comply with this requirement, or choose not to, are invited to participate virtually when events are livestreamed via Zoom or YouTube.

COVID-19 Information

COVID-19 has changed the way we move through our daily lives. We are adapting to this uncharted territory, and we are doing this together. CUC staff and congregational leaders are working together to support connections through digital venues while also continuing to nurture personal relationships. As communities of faith, we can play significant roles in helping to prevent the spread of infection, in providing a calm and reasoned presence, and in modelling safe practices.

Resources for Congregations

Multi-platform Resources

The CUC has created the Congregational Guides to Multi-Platform Considerations, compiled by CUC staff from conversations with leaders, resources from the Unitarian Universalist Association, other faith organizations and government sources.

These are set up as PowerPoint slides with accompanying notes, and can also be used to guide small group conversations. The Guide can be found in the Resources for Congregations During Covid-19 Google folder, and has its own sub-folder called Congregational Guides to Multi-Platform Considerations with cited documents in this sub-folder.

If you have additional resources to share, please email them to congregationallife@cuc.ca.

Congregations should continue to monitor and follow local public and governmental directives regarding physical gatherings. To limit the spread and reduce health risks, the CUC is strongly recommending all congregations continue with online and other alternatives to services and in person activities.
