At the 2006 CUC Annual Conference & Meeting in Saint John, NB, the CUC Board presented: "Go-4-It!: A Framework for Planning throughout the Canadian Unitarian & Universalist Movement". The Go-4-It! For the full background and history, see the Go-4-It! Overview & Background. All self-identifying communities within the Canadian Unitarian & Universalist movement are invited to participate in the Go-4-It! initiative from inception to implementation - as part of a multi-year action plan. Participating communities were invited to host workshops during the Fall/Winter of 2006/7 to review the Go-4-It! Framework and to discuss the issues and opportunities raised for their communities. The CUC Board took the feedback from the community workshops into consideration as it developed Strategic Directions, presented at the 2007 CUC Annual Conference & Meeting in Vancouver. Recognizing a need for further discussion, consultation, and collaboration among Canadian UUs on many questions of importance, we support an on-going national conversation in the development of the longer-range aspects of our strategic plan. At the same time, there are some practical initiatives we can take forward right now. At the 2008 ACM in Ottawa, delegates approved a Short-term Action Plan that sets out immediate priorities and goals. We are now in the Execution Phase of that plan. - Stay tuned to this site for news & updates! - |
