Youth and Young Adult Ministry Development
Ariel grew up attending the Unitarian Church of Vancouver, and after living in Victoria, BC and Kingston, ON for seven years she has returned to the west coast.
Ariel has a diploma in theatre from Douglas College, a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Victoria and a B.Ed in Outdoor and Experiential Education from Queen’s University.
Ariel has over 10 years of experience working with children and youth in a wide range of educational settings, including at summer camps, in after-school care, and at outdoor centres. Experiential education and creating learning experiences that engage us in mind, heart, body and spirit are of particular interest to Ariel and are a large part of what drew her to want to work for the CUC.
While growing up, she was an active member of the UCV youth group, attending weekly meetings and Youth Cons. A highlight of her youth experience was being involved in the planning and delivery of the annual youth-led Sunday service each year.
Ariel is thrilled and honoured to have the opportunity to serve Youth and Young Adults in Canada in the area of Ministry Development and Programming. She is passionate about nurturing this area of ministry and encouraging ways to have meaningful multigenerational fellowship and worship.
Outside of work, Ariel is interested in yoga and loves cooking. She believes cooking for each other and sharing meals together builds community.
