Joanne Green started attending the Unitarian Church of Calgary in 1959 when her parents joined the congregation. After moving several times to locations with no Unitarian congregation, she moved to Regina in 1996 with her husband and children. They joined the Unitarian Fellowship of Regina knowing they would find kindred humans (or spirits).
Joanne has been active in the Unitarian Fellowship of Regina since 1997, holding positions as treasurer twice, newsletter editor twice, and now, president. Joanne has also been active in the children’s program committee and the building committee, overseeing several renovations to their 1928 building. In her working life, she was an architectural technologist and specification writer. Other interests include environmental awareness and women’s issues. After retirement in early 2013, Joanne stepped up to become president of the board in Regina.
After attending the last two CUC ACM events, Joanne has become more interested in the future of the CUC. Although it is a small start, being part of the nominating committee will allow more connection to the national council.
