Theological Education Funds

CUC Theological Education Funds (TEF) bursaries are intended to assist Canadian Unitarians with expenses incurred annually while studying for the Ministry. Eligibility requirements include:

  1. Canadian citizenship/status,
  2. Candidate status with the UUA’s Ministry and Professional Leadership (MAPL) office, and
  3. Being in second and subsequent years of study or recognized internship. The maximum number of years to receive a bursary is three.

Contributions to the Theological Education Funds come from special collections taken at services of ordination and installation of ministers in our CUC congregations, transfers of income from First Unitarian Congregation of Toronto’s MacKie-Jenkins Fund, and transfers of income from the Percy Simpson Bailey Fund.

Disbursements are made by the CUC Board on the recommendation of the Board’s Theological Education Committee. The deadline for applications is March 31.
