A MINDFUL JOURNEY TO ITALY'S HILL TOWNS

Join Rev. Wayne Walder and experience the enchanting hill towns of Tuscany and Umbria, view the awesome landscapes, admire the incredible art, taste the wine, enjoy fresh pasta, and all the delights this area of Italy offers us. Spend three nights in Florence, and three each in the hill towns of Siena and Assisi, staying in charming accommodation. We’ll explore Cortona, made famous by the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun,” and have lunch in a typical osteria. The Renaissance architecture designed by a humanist Pope in Pienza will be a treat. The hill towns of San Gimignano, Montalcino, Gubbio and Spoleto are also on our itinerary. We hope meditate to Gregorian chanting at the Abby St. Antimo that dates from the 12th century. Cost will be around $3000 Canadian, plus airfare, and we are looking at the end of July, beginning of August.

If you are interested in possibly taking this journey and want to get the final itinerary soon, please email beverlz@me.com.

PERFORMING LOVE WORKSHOP
with Natalie Amber

ALL WELCOME - FREE ADMISSION

This 2 hour workshop is designed to help participants begin to understand the external systems of influence that affect our relationships, power dynamics, motivations, goals, and concepts of LOVE in all its forms. It also gives practical tools to help people become more honest, gentle, empathetic and emotionally articulate, both with themselves and also lovers and friends. The premise of this workshop stems from the belief that putting honesty first is the best way to form healthy, meaningful relationships, and that all people can achieve these kinds of relationships if given the right tools and strategies to do so.

We’ll delve into concepts developed by Jud...
ith Butler and Marx, to understand how it is that we are often alienated from our work, gender and, yes, even the way we love. Together, we’ll start to understand what it might look like to begin actively choosing how we interact with the various scripts laid out for us by historical and contemporary society.

Capitalism, Patriarchy and Neoliberalism affect how we view our values, concepts of success and long term goals and power dynamics. We will outline these influences affects on how we view what a “successful” relationship looks like and try to open ourselves up to new way of looking at “success” based on putting honesty FIRST.

Natalie Amber is a certified teacher, certified CCF Life Coach, seasoned facilitator and fun loving community organizer. Through her work as a teacher, Natalie became passionate about helping people develop better emotional articulation skills, something she saw missing in standardized education systems. Whether at work, at home, with lovers or with friends, Natalie realized that what was blocking many people’s ability to fulfill their passions and create meaningful, balanced lives was their inability to see emotion-based patterns, responses and mechanisms that were not serving them well. Natalie Amber’s life coaching is centred from a place of emotional honesty, helping clients to overcome the subconscious emotional barriers that prevent them from achieving real peace, success, and happiness. She also attempts to approach her practice from an anti-oppressive, queer and trans friendly viewpoint. She believes the exciting possibilities of what coaching can do for folks in all walks of life, and has seen the results of life coaching in her own journey of happiness, self-actualization and fulfilment.

WHAT OF THE NIGHT?  VOLUNTARY RELIEF EFFORTS AT BERGEN-BELSEN

Part of Holocaust Education Week

Weeks before the end of the Second World War, the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp was surrendered to the British Army. The history of the liberation and relief of this camp remains incomplete. Indeed, the remarkable Canadian involvement at Bergen-Belsen has not been properly acknowledged, studied or documented. Focusing on oral and written accounts, Mark Celinscak will reveal some of the incredible, voluntary relief efforts of Canadians at Bergen-Belsen.
