CUC Resolutions Process

Vyda Ng (right) and Leslie Kemp (left) introduce the updated CUC Resolutions Process at the 2011 CUC ACM.

The CUC Resolutions Process guides all resolutions and motions that are intended to be discussed and approved at an Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Canadian Unitarian Council, except motions relating to parliamentary and statutory procedures at such a meeting.

Key Dates Each Year

  • The deadline for submission of resolutions to the Executive Director is December 15 prior to the AGM at which they will be considered.
  • Resolutions are distributed to congregations by January 15.
  • Written comments to the proponents are invited until February 28.
  • Amended resolutions are distributed to congregations by March 15.

The Resolutions Process and Resolutions Flow Chart documents below provide complete information on submitting resolutions and the process. For assistance with the resolutions process, contact the Resolutions Advisory Committee at resolutions@cuc.ca.

Proposed CUC AGM Resolutions, 2012

Three resolutions will be proposed at the CUC 2012 Annual General Meeting, to be held at The Westin, Ottawa on Friday, May 18.

A PDF of each proposed resolution, along with its associated action plan, is available in the Annual Meeting area of the 2012 CUC Spiritual Leadership Symposium website.

Congregations are encouraged to engage in discussion of these resolutions so they can instruct their delegates how to vote.
