Gary first discovered Unitarianism in Saskatoon, and fell in love with its principle-based approach to religious community. As a father of four boys, committed husband, and dedicated surgical oncologist Gary has a deep belief in and commitment to living intentionally within community. To his work on the CUC board, he brings years of experience as a congregational leader — as a Unitarian in recent years, and as a Mennonite prior to that.
In his work life, Gary is a clinical professor of surgery, was head of his department for many years, and also ran a hospital in Africa. In recent years, Gary has been working on his PhD in community health and epidemiology.
Gary is passionate about strengthening the democratic process of the organization and looks forward to playing a key role in making that happen.
